The opening turned out great. Tons of people, tons of candy, and lots of good fun. Thanks to everyone at Vasava, Vallery and everybody that showed up.
Stay tuned for a closer look of the works and for announcement of the winner of the trading magic competition.

A shot of the space a couple of seconds before the doors opened. A lot of people where waiting in the street for the show to start. I felt like a kid before xmas…

Another shot of the space before it opened. Everything nice and tidy…

Cyan overload!

People waiting to get in…

Inside some of the balloons we had hidden little notes. Some where prizes, others where blanks. This lucky girl found one with a prize. Emil Kozak + Furni alarmclock.

This guy won a Emil Kozak + LAB skateboard. He couldnt wait to take it to the streets. Happy to pass on some skate-fever. Rip it up!

The walls inside of the playhouse where covered with peoples childhood anecdotes and amazing stories. The house also had a candyjar with more than 2 Kg. of blue and white candy. It was all eaten within the first two hours!!!
Enric also took some photos. Check them here

Show-opening coming up. Here is a photo of my two awesome little helpers. Thanks guys!
Also note the wallpaper I made for Wallcollection behind the boards.

Spending alot of time at the gallery these days. They make me feel at home there. Here you see a picture of my house ive been putting together the last days. I’ll keep you updated on how it all turns out, and how the house will look painted. Stay tuned.

I am having an exhibition at Vallery Gallery in Barcelona. The opening is february 7th at 20:00. There will be music, posters, mixed media pieces, t-shirts, free drinks, candy and much more. See you in the pit!
Gallery address:
The Vallery Barcelona
Calabria, 85 local
08015 Barcelona, Spain
Website
Description of the show:
During my short existence on this planet, I have obviously been a kid or a teenager most of the time. Now that I´m a grown up, i would like to believe that imagination and curiosity are still with me.
My mom always tells me she is amazed of all the things i can remember from my childhood. Not only do I remember the usual anecdotes of setting stuff on fire and eating sand, but also how you would be playing your way through the days, wanting to build your own little universe.
The following works, are a celebration of childhood and the art of growing up without loosing the admiration for the little things in life. With this exhibition, I propose a trip to an imaginary blue space, that takes us through the 80´s, the means of transportation, The Fibonacci Code, fun and games, discovery of mortality, and ideas to remind us to dream of better places. Places where you can close your eyes, and for a second live in the moment as if it was the only reality, without worrying about the future and all the things that will go wrong.

Competition:
Send a photo (scanned digital format) from your childhood, or teenageyears, with a short story to go along with the photo. The best anecdotes will be exhibited at the gallery with my work. + The Funniest, sweetest or most crazy childhood memory will be rewarded with a Trading magic for facts T-shirt.

Various Photos from 2007 taken with my cellphone.

Mmm… we went to the north on my birthday. Surf at low tide and pintxos at high tide. I broke my board the first day and ended up buying a new one.
For the geeks: It is a Pukas shaped by Wade Tokoro - 6,2 x 18 7/8 x 2 5/16, and I call it Milo…
Emil Kozak interview up at F’kn Mayhem

The other day my brother gave me a demostration of all the crazy flatland moves he had learned this summer. I was playing with my camera, and this wierd one came out.

Check out the cross-media article in the latests copy of Computer Arts (issue 142). There is a part about me, and some insights on how to work with cross-media projects.

This sunday the wavegod was kind to us. We had nice juicy ones all day long.

After a long time with a tiny flash website, we finally put together a little LAB website. Some of the older deck series will be put for sale there. buy boards.
I had a talk the other day with malaysian Syed Syahrul Zarizi. Read the interview here

here are a couple of pictures (taken from my cell-phone) from the last couple of days.
The nights are getting colder and the days are getting shorter. Like I wrote last year, I love this time of the year…empty beaches, waves and less distractions in general.
Also fall is good for geeking around on the internet. Check out this recent profile/interview MUSE did on me.

Still living in boxes. Please have a bit of patience with my email-replies etc. The most important stuff is safe…the skateboards (brown boxes) and the computer, but there is still lots of setting up to be done… Maybe i’ll post a photo when its all clean and nice.
Moving to a new place. Here is the address:

I had a cozy talk with the nice people from P1. Tune in on DR (P1) Tuesday 15.15 - 16.00 to hear some thoughts on my work and sand between the toes. (Sorry, it is the Danish national radio and the show is aired in danish only)

look out for this project, that im involved in… sounds pretty funny, right?
Had a little chat with the nice guys at DesignFreak. Read the interview here.

Two designs by four artists. Eight tshirts per release. Each design is run off in limited quantities of 200 across all sizes. Once sold out, thats it.
I was selected to make 2 designs for this season. check them out here.
I had a little talk with UnderSpray the other day. Read the Interview here. Their concept is pretty interesting. Each artist interviewed is asked to nominate 1 or 2 others to be interviewed… Thats how the site expands… sweet!

Just got back from some amazing days in the south of france / Pais Vasco. We have been surfing alot of different types of waves, and we now have most of the coastline covered. Wednesday (almost like the movie) evening we had a stellar session with sunset, overhead and glassy. This photograph is from that evening. Antonio is already in the water, and I am right behind him running like crazy.

Packing up my stuff, since we are heading off to the north of Hossegor tomorrow for a couple of days of fun. We will drop by at the Flow Store in San Sebastian for some pintxos and to discuss an interresting project - I will tell you more about that, in the near future. Gooooin’ left!

I just recieved some flip flops i designed for ykiki. When i get a bit more time ill propably put some of them in the ‘work’ section.
Summer!

Here goes the first batch of tees. Each colorway are usually limited to only 15-35 pieces. So you have to be quick.

Yesterday we went to an old mill, outside Barcelona, to see one of my favorite bands - Boom Boom Kid. They where amazing. He even surfed the crowd, using a flightcase as surfboard. Insane! I cant wait to see them again.
Im updating some parts of the site. You might have noticed that everything is turning blue! woa, mama! Also, the contest (that was starting to be a tiiiiny bit outdated…) has been taken out of the menu. But don`t worry, you can still see all the submissions here.
One of the tees (2 colorways) are up now - go go go!
2 more will follow plus a little surprise…
Check out the latest IDN and find a tiny feature about me…

These days we are having some great days at the local Primavera Sound Festival. Good times with good friends and visits from Denmark. Jeah! (’battles’ where pretty kickass)
“You know… When you look around this scene (design industry) certain people stand out! We are talking about the guys & girls doing their thing, and doing it well. Each have there own special properties, from the design dinosaurs that have been established for eons, guys who produce good work and produce it fast (prolific), those that do great things with new software and IT new media developments, and then there are those new talents that you gotta watch out for…you know? The ones that hit the scene with a huge thud and blow everybody away. They take advantage of you not looking and then sneak up on you!
Well Emil Kozak is just that kinda talent! Young, gifted, and bright with a kick ass design portfolio to boot. Originally from Denmark and now firmly relocated and entrenched in the beautiful city of Barcelona, Emil is in the perfect position to let his talents grow into something long term and of value.”
I had a little chat with ‘Feed me cool shit’ Read more

We went surfing at the old cement factory this weekend. Its a mystical place. It looks like the moon. Everything is covered in concrete and graffiti, and to gain entrance you have to jump fences and climb walls (almost).

Yup, that’s right. New tees are coming up in a week or so. New designs and new colorways.
I just got back from Albert & friends, and it looks very promising. The photo is a sneak-peak of a new design.
Da Vinci is Da Bomb!
As usually I make really small runs, so you need to work quick on that keyboard if you’d like to join the party!

This weekend gave us a good swell. Alicia took this picture of a crowded “Cementerio”. The first person that can guess which black dot on the photo is me, I`ll send a free T-shirt. (one guess pr. person)
CONTEST IS OVER!
The contest is already over. After only 10 minutes and 8 people guessing, Frank Schouwaerts from Belgium runs with the price. Damn, you people are fast!!! thank you for playing. Btw. I am no. 5 from the left.
More games coming up, Stay tuned.

Just went through some older photographs, and bumped into this one, that I took some years ago of a good friend. Can`t believe how fast the years are passing.

This morning in Aiguadolc was a good way to start the day. Small waves, but good fun. Friday we went to Les Angles to snowboard some powder…mmm…I am on a roll.

We went to fallas in Valencia and it was da bomb.

weeee…. I got me some new boards for “testing”.

Once again, swiss magazine, ID Pure, give me some coverage. This time they have a nice feature about the anniversary contest.
I thought it was time to share some of my favorite ‘youtube’ skateboard movies.
1) John Motta - Crazy Tugknee’s and creative lines.
2) Pt. 1 Pt. 2 Pt.3 - Chris haslam and Daewon Song are having a good time indoors.
3) Brian ‘Slash’ Hansen - SLASHIN’

Yesterday we had a fun little session at Masella with my brother (white goggles). swoooosh!

Today it is my moms birthday. My dad took this beautiful picture.
