Artist Statement:
My works in ‘Acid Rain’ deal with the relationship between man and nature. My goal with this series is to draw attention to the conflicts related to the, often disproportionate, man altered landscape.

We romanticize nature, while we shape it to match our fantasy. It continouisly amaze and baffle us. But still we break it, and suck it dry of resources in pursuit of excessive luxury, leisure and happiness. It is a complex relationship that often ends with nature striking back.

I chose to base the works around the theme ‘Acid Rain’, because it is a phenomenon, that show how human interventions and alterations, can return in form of acid drops falling from the sky. It is symbol of how the negative effect of our interventions might not seem noticable at first, but over time they reappear, and mother earth will reclaim her part.

Great parts of the planet undergo intense alterations to the point of illness, and I hope that in my lifetime i will witness a positive change. The drop, that spilled the cup.

Works:
Acid Rain consist of medium format photographs (Limited edition giclée print / archival inks) and acrylic painting + artists’ original silkscreens on paper. (Handmade 300g Meirat paper / 300g fine art paper)
All pieces are either signed or include artist certificate.

After a lot of hard work at the screenprinting lab. Im finally putting together some pieces for my show here in Barcelona (check the post below for further details)

As promised, here are some behind the scenes snaps from my last couple of weeks working on my pieces for my upcoming exhibition. Huge thanks goes out to The Newtown family!

Im having an exhibition showing medium format photographs, paintings and silkscreen at Galeria Cosmo, C/ Enric Granados 3, Barcelona, Spain. The opening is Saturday the 5th of dec. It starts at 17:00. Double from Double Trouble will spin some records. Drop by, it will be fun! Soon I’ll post some snaps from the screenprinting….stay tuned

After some re-counting yesterday, we realised that some tees on the webshop are NOT sold out. Most designs from the ‘Faster Louder Bigger Better’ 2008 collection are still available. But be fast, because there is only approx. 2-4 left of each design.

I have done some collaboration with german Bmx company ‘We The People’. This project, plus many more, will soon be put up on the project portfolio with detailed information and lots of fresh photos.

Just got back from a blast of a trip to Mexico. I was invited to speak, and recieve a prize, at Ixtapa 09 Design Conference. The speak went well and i got good surf every day. Big thanks goes out to everybody we met there. Thanks for all the presents, kind words, parties, drawings….etc.. Thanks.

I have decided to post more of my personal photographs in the blog. Most of them probably wont have much to do with my graphic design, or illustration work, but after considering flickr and other similar services, i have decided just to stay simple and put them here. I did, however, create a flickr account…not sure I will use it much, but if you are curious, you can check it here.

I finally got a decent scanner and I will soon put up some medium format photos and other experiments. Here is a polaroid (for the geeks: sx70 with 600 film and the viewfinder-glass removed)

Summer is here, and I made some new tee’s, some are organic, galaxy blue, and fine dark heather grey…all handprinted in very limited pieces on american apparel. And also some new jewellery. go to the shop here. Stay easy. Ride the heatwave.
